Pomegranate Moscow Mules: An Illustrated Guide

New Year’s Eve is upon us whether you like it or not. You can bet that while some people (i.e., my lovely husband) sort of loathe the approaching evening with it’s high expectations and pressure to start the new year just right, I’ve had my sequined-wear planned and ready to go since mid-October. Sometimes our plans are extravagant, sometimes they’re quieter... but no matter if you’re having a relaxed night-in or planning to party all night long with friends, a shiny dress and cocktail-in-hand are absolute musts when ringing in the new year. Am I right?

I’ve shared a couple recipes here but since I’m no photographer (and not really a cook if we’re honest), the posts have maybe seemed a little out of place. But no more! As part of my plan for the coming year which I’ll talk more about soon, I’m really excited about making “Illustrated Guides to…” where I’ll share the recipes I love, but in the form of fun illustrations instead of traditional recipe posts. The first one has come just in time for 2017!

I’m a big fan of Moscow Mules and although nothing can beat the traditional spicy ginger drink, this fun and fruity twist on the classic is perfect for a festive evening! Make this cocktail in four easy steps:

  1. In a cocktail glass stir 2 oz vodka and 1 oz pomegranate juice together with ice.
  2. Add 1 tbsp pomegranate seeds, 1 tbsp lime juice and 1 tsp honey.
  3. Top off with a splash of ginger beer and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary.
  4. Enjoy!

Enjoy this recipe and ringing in 2017, however you decide to do it. Happy New Year!
